Lead Strategic Sustainability Initiatives

Job Description

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead strategic sustainability initiatives and drive environmental, social, and governance (ESG) efforts within a dynamic organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sustainability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

The Chief Sustainability Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable practices that align with the company's values and goals. This includes leading the customer engagement portfolio, managing the annual sustainability report, and providing white-glove support for key customer engagements.

Key responsibilities include driving strategy, programming, and narratives for sustainability efforts, as well as recommending and implementing improvements across customer and rater engagement programs.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for quantifying the impact of sustainability programs based on sales, investment, and other business activities.

Additionally, this role will contribute to internal engagement efforts, including Sales enablement and awareness resources, and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Communications, and Investor Relations teams.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Deep experience and expertise in sustainability, ESG, or a related field are essential for this role. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience leading sustainability reporting and disclosure initiatives
  • Demonstrated experience in customer engagement, Sales enablement, communications, or marketing
  • Exceptional written communications skills, including narrative development, messaging, editing, and proofing
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with a track record of collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Experience using stakeholder engagement, interpersonal, communications, and influencing skills to drive change and lead complex projects
  • Proven ability to translate complex sustainability concepts into accessible and accurate materials
  • Strong attention to detail, program management, and facilitation skills
