The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Young People Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Residential Youth Team, you will play a critical role in changing the lives of young people by providing direct care and support in various settings.

Your Responsibilities

  • Build meaningful relationships with the young people in your care
  • Provide around-the-clock care, following a structured routine developed specifically for their needs
  • Administer medication as required
  • Transport participants to school, day programs, and appointments
  • Assist in implementing programs designed for the development of the client
  • Prepare reports on client progress and well-being

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential criteria:

  • Hold a current Working with Children Check (for paid employment)
  • Have a current NDIS Worker Check (can be obtained via https://www.service.vic.gov.au/services/national-disability-insurance-scheme)
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate (Provide First Aid; Course Code HLTAID003)
  • Obtain a National Police Check (this must be done via https://www.employmentscreeninggroup.com/au/allambi/)
  • Hold a valid driver's licence
  • Have completed the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (can be accessed via: https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/)
  • Be willing to work a 7-day shift roster
  • Be prepared to participate in pre-employment medical checks
  • Provide two professional references

Qualifications

A recognised relevant qualification such as a Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or a similar certification is mandatory for this role.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated $60,000 - $70,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Additionally, you will receive comprehensive training and support to ensure your success in the role.
