Job Role Overview

Melba Support Services is seeking a skilled and passionate individual to fill the role of 2IC DDSO2A in our Sale team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the House Supervisor in the daily operations of the Supported Independent Living service, providing regular reports to the Operations Manager.
  • Manage team performance, including rostering, performance management, records management, quality, and compliance.
  • Lead and plan support for people with disabilities within their home and community, based on individual support plans.
  • Support initiatives promoting individual choice, control, and independence within the shared home environment.
  • Advocate for inclusion, participation, and respect for rights within the broader community.
  • Communicate with people we support and their families to meet daily needs and plan for future requirements.
  • Administer medication treatments, therapies, or seek assistance according to protocols.
Requirements
  • Hold or be working towards an Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience and knowledge in the field of disability, applying policies and processes.
  • Specialized understanding of disability and theoretical knowledge application to client support.
  • Understanding of NDIS funding and planning processes.
  • Knowledge of person-centered active support, positive behavior support, and its implementation within a diverse team.
  • Passion for supporting people with mental health and intellectual disability.
  • Competencies in Microsoft Office software programs.
  • NDIS worker screening check.
  • Working With Children Check.
  • Current unrestricted Australian Driver's License.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate - 3 doses.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
