Senior Solutions Architect: Electrical Distribution

The Senior Solutions Architect will spearhead the development and implementation of impactful IT business solutions within the electrical low voltage distribution sector.

About the Opportunity:

This pivotal role is ideal for an individual with a deep understanding of electricity distribution processes, technology integration, and regulatory frameworks, who has demonstrated expertise in delivering innovative analytics solutions to Australian or New Zealand electricity distribution businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with utility customers to develop, implement, and optimize our analytics solution within their environment.
  2. Lead cross-functional initiatives, providing valuable insights into business processes driving operations in electricity distribution, transmission, and retail.
  3. Work across multiple customer departments to deliver practical, technology-driven solutions addressing key business challenges.
  4. Design innovative analytics features for smart metering systems, Distributed Energy Resources (DER) solutions, and other cutting-edge technologies enhancing service delivery and operational efficiency.
  5. Ensure compliance with Australian, NZ, and US regulatory frameworks.
  6. Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations engaging customers, stakeholders, and employees, focusing on education and influence at all levels.
  7. Collaborate on data management initiatives, ensuring privacy and security protocols align with software development processes.
  8. Monitor industry trends, including renewable technologies, integrating these into business strategies to align with evolving market needs.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 10 years working within an Australian or NZ electricity distribution business, with hands-on exposure to multiple departments.
  • Work Rights: Must hold full Australian working rights and be able to provide supporting documentation upon request.
  • Education: Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Police Check: Must be willing to undergo a National Police Check, with a clear outcome.
  • Vendor Management: A minimum of 5 years of experience working with IT vendors in the electrical distribution industry.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian, NZ, and US regulatory frameworks, along with an understanding of motivations driving regulations.
  • Technology Expertise: Strong knowledge of smart metering, DER systems, renewable technologies, and DOE.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills, with experience interacting with both internal teams and external customers.
  • Business Process Knowledge: In-depth understanding of business processes surrounding electricity distribution, from operational to customer management and privacy concerns.
  • Global Framework: Familiarity with electricity distribution, transmission, and retail business frameworks on a global scale, particularly in vertically aggregated and disaggregated customer business models.
  • Presentation and Training: Proven ability to lead meetings, workshops, and deliver presentations to diverse audiences including customers, potential customers, and internal teams.
