Product Manager Opportunity

Future Grid is seeking an experienced senior consultant to join their dynamic team in a full-time role as a Product Manager in the Low Voltage Electrical Distribution Network. This pivotal role focuses on delivering impactful IT business solutions within the electrical LV distribution sector.

This role is ideal for an individual who has a deep understanding of electricity distribution processes, technology integration, and regulatory frameworks, with a strong track record of working within Australian or NZ electricity distribution businesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with electricity utility customers to implement, develop, and optimize our analytics solution within their environment.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and provide valuable insights into business processes that drive operations in electricity distribution, transmission, and retail.
  • Work across multiple customer departments to deliver practical, technology-driven solutions that address key business challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian, NZ, and US regulatory frameworks.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and presentations to engage customers, stakeholders, and employees, with a focus on educating and influencing at all levels.
Requirements:
  • Experience: At least 10 years working within an Australian or NZ electricity distribution business, with hands-on exposure to multiple departments.
  • Work Rights: Must hold full Australian working rights and be able to provide supporting documentation upon request.
  • Education: Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Police Check: Must be willing to undergo a National Police Check, with a clear outcome.
  • Vendor Management: A minimum of 5 years of experience working with IT vendors in the electrical distribution industry.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian, NZ, and US regulatory frameworks, along with an understanding of the motivations driving regulations.
  • Technology Expertise: Strong knowledge of smart metering, DER systems, renewable technologies, and DOE.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and influencing skills, with experience interacting with both internal teams and external customers.
