Job Overview

The Senior Financial Strategist will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations of Australian and New Zealand offices, ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency in financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, in accordance with IFRS and US GAAP standards.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting activities, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to senior management.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, supporting strategic decision-making across the organization.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow projections and optimize working capital efficiency through effective treasury management practices.
  • Internal Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls in accordance with company policies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Tax Compliance: Coordinate with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Audit and Tax Return Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during annual audits, facilitating the audit process and addressing any findings or recommendations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the finance function, driving efficiency and scalability.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a senior finance position, ideally within a marketing agency or related industry.
  • Skillset: Strong technical proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis, with a solid understanding of IFRS and US GAAP standards as well as other relevant financial regulations and standards. Demonstrated expertise in cash flow management, internal controls, and tax compliance.

Location and Travel

This position is based in Sydney Australia, with occasional travel to other locations as required. We also have an established Work from Home practice.
