Our team at UGL is seeking a highly experienced Senior Operations Manager to lead our Utilities Operations and Maintenance (O&M) activities in Queensland.



Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving growth, ensuring operational excellence, and leading a team of dedicated professionals in Queensland.




  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all Utilities Programs and Projects across Queensland.
  • Develop and implement business plans to drive growth and achieve financial targets in the region.
  • Foster a high-performance culture, promoting teamwork and professional development.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of power generation, transmission lines, substations, electrical distribution networks, and water treatment facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
  • Optimise operational efficiency and resource utilisation.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of utility projects in Queensland.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Address client needs and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Represent UGL at industry events and forums.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to improve profitability.
  • Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.


Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in utility operations and maintenance.




  • Proven track record of leadership in a similar role, managing large teams and complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of power transmission and distribution.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience with budget management.
