Postdoctoral Research Fellow Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our research team in the area of Microbial Ecology. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research, collaborating with other researchers, and advancing knowledge in this field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting research in microbial ecology, including experimentation, data analysis, and publication of results.
  • Collaborating with other researchers within the institution to advance knowledge in this field.
  • Developing and implementing new research projects, as well as contributing to existing ones.
  • Maintaining accurate records of research activities, including laboratory notes, experimental designs, and results.
  • Communicating research findings through presentations, publications, and reports.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant field (microbial ecology, microbial genomics, bioinformatics).
  • Experience with anaerobic culture, fluorescence microscopy, or single cell genomics.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and autonomously organise and prioritise tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
