Job Summary

This role plays a vital part in the smooth operation of the operating theatre and works under the direction of the Nurse Manager.

About the Position
  • The Operating Theatre Assistant supports patient transfers to and from the Operating Theatre.
  • Assists with patient transfers and positioning in the operating theatre (once competency has been assessed).
  • Supports the application of Diathermy plates and positioning equipment within the operating theatre suite (once competency has been assessed).
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment by regularly dry/wet mopping before, during and after theatre lists.
Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Recent experience working in an Operating theatre environment.
  • Strong willingness to learn and develop skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work efficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
