Senior Editor - Special Projects

The Australian Financial Review is seeking a highly skilled editor to oversee the commissioning, editing and production of special reports, custom reports and advertising features.

Job Description:

As a senior editor in our team, you will be responsible for liaising with commercial and editorial teams to determine special report topics and publication dates based on client objectives. You will also commission, edit and oversee the production of special and custom reports, as well as advertising features.

Responsibilities:
  • Liaise with stakeholders to determine project objectives and timelines.
  • Commission and edit content for special and custom reports, ensuring high-quality and compelling output.
  • Collaborate with senior journalists and editors to ensure content aligns with editorial stance.
  • Manage communication with internal and external writers and production staff to ensure timely delivery of projects.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in journalism or a related field.
  • Print and online editing experience.
  • Understanding of key issues relevant to our audience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of editorial processes and print production.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with stakeholders.
