We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Program Officer to join our team at Queensland Fire and Emergency Services. As a key member of our Volunteering and Culture Branch, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to enhance the culture, community connection, and capability of our volunteers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the development and implementation of strategies and associated projects and plans to build volunteer capabilities and support a robust and sustainable volunteer model.
- Lead in the development, reporting, and implementation of programs and associated tasks to ensure the successful delivery of all projects.
- Undertake research and analysis to support project implementation and identify opportunities for improvements in processes and service delivery.
- Provide timely and accurate advice and information to management to enable effective decision-making processes.
- Research and develop frameworks for the introduction of flexible and contemporary volunteer models to support the volunteer lifecycle.
- Prepare high-level departmental reports, submissions, and other correspondence and communication on a range of complex and confidential issues and opportunities relating to volunteers.
- Liaise, consult, and negotiate with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery and monitoring of agreed outcomes.
- Knowledge of, or experience working with volunteers and/or within a volunteer organisation.
- Knowledge and experience in project management.
- Capacity to work occasionally on nights and weekends to suit a volunteer environment.
- The incumbent may also be requested to assist in QFES operational centres during periods of disaster events which may require work outside of the normal spread of hours.
