About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Computational Biologist to join our team at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. As a key member of our Data Science Platform, you will collaborate with researchers and clinicians to develop and apply computational methods for analyzing and interpreting complex biomedical data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement computational workflows for genomics data analysis, including quality control, unsupervised and supervised analyses.
  • Prepare high-quality figures and contribute to manuscript writing for publication.
  • Develop and maintain modular and reusable workflows using container and workflow management technologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with advances in computational methods, genomics, and biological domain expertise.
  • Contribute to training programs through designing and running workshops, mentoring, and technical supervision.
About You

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD degree in a related area of science or engineering, good statistical knowledge, and programming skills. Previous experience in analyzing and interpreting genomics data, such as single-cell genomics, spatial transcriptomics, RNA-seq, and whole-genome sequencing, is highly desirable. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for success in this role.
