Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team.

The role will be based at our HQ in Rhodes, Sydney.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure efficient and effective month end close off that meets the deadline as per the timetable.
  • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger, including the monthly completion of balance sheet reconciliations for the group.
  • Assist with the half-yearly and year end statutory audit.
  • Completion and reviews of all general journals.
  • Preparation and review of statutory tax returns. Ensure all returns are lodged and paid within the deadline.
  • Ensure Australian Accounting Standards and policies are adhered to.
  • Ensure all intercompany transactions are reconciled monthly and agreed upon with business units.
  • Liaison with external parties including banks, auditors and ATO.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and system enhancement initiatives.
About You
  • You should have a strong technical accounting background and a minimum of 8 years of financial accounting experience.
  • Experience in preparation of GST and FBT returns is highly regarded.
  • You should possess strong organisational skills with high attention to detail and a methodical approach.
  • Problem-solving skills with a strong track record of critical and analytical thinking are essential.
  • A positive attitude, flexibility and adaptability are key qualities we are looking for.
  • Previous experience in leading a small finance team would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills are crucial for this role.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and accounting software package knowledge are required.
  • Experience in the Construction or Engineering Industry would be highly regarded.
  • Experience using Jobpac ERP and Xero is desirable.
