The Opportunity
Our client is a leading global financial services business with a strong and growing presence in Australia. They are seeking a Financial Accountant to take ownership of statutory, management and regulatory reporting requirements across the local operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, compliance and governance while also supporting the delivery of process improvements in a dynamic and collaborative finance team.
The Challenge
Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver month-end close, reconciliations and management reporting
- Assist with preparation of statutory accounts, IFRS disclosures and regulatory returns
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with accurate financial inputs
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights to finance leadership
- Contribute to external audit, tax compliance and regulatory requirements
- Work with senior stakeholders to strengthen reporting frameworks and processes
- Identify opportunities to improve controls and reporting efficiency
- Provide input into board-level reporting and support ad hoc projects
The Expertise
- CA/CPA qualified with 3–6 years' experience in financial accounting or external audit
- Strong technical grounding in IFRS, statutory reporting and compliance
- Hands-on approach with proven month-end and reporting experience
- Solid Excel and financial systems skills
- Experience within insurance, financial services or other regulated industries highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across the business
