Our Family Mental Health Program offers a unique therapeutic environment where families can work together to address mental health challenges.

We provide treatment for children with severe emotional and behavioural problems, focusing on empowering parents/carers to find better ways of helping their children. Our team works closely with families to develop effective strategies and provide ongoing support. This role involves care coordination, preparing families for admission, organising care during their stay, providing therapeutic interventions, and reporting back to referring agents.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need recognised qualifications as a Psychologist, Registered Nurse, or Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with current registration through the relevant Professional Board of the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, or eligibility for Membership for Social Workers with the AASW. You will also need post-qualification experience demonstrating your ability to provide mental health interventions and therapeutic support to families.

Working with Us

Our service provides treatment to referred children in the context of their family and conceptualises the family as the unit of treatment. Families come from across NSW for planned 4-night stays with up to three families at a time being in residence. We challenge and nurture each other, sharing our knowledge and experience so that we can deliver better care for everyone.
