Anglicare is looking for a Casual Support Worker with initiative and enthusiasm to support those in the community.
About the Role- Providing supervised visits for children in foster care with their family. This may involve accompanying families on outings, engaging in activities that promote bonding and attachment.
- Transport for children in care to appointments or visits ensuring timely arrival and departure.
- Mentoring children in foster care, providing guidance and support to aid their development.
- Establish positive relationships with the clients, staff and other organisations, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Promote Anglicare's services in a positive manner, highlighting the organisation's commitment to supporting vulnerable individuals.
- Affect client safety, planning, and intervening where appropriate, by ensuring the well-being of the client at all times.
- Tertiary education, Cert 3 or above in social work, psychology/community services/mental health OR demonstrated equivalent experience and working toward a qualification.
- Valid NSW Drivers licence.
- Knowledge of mental health issues and the impacts it has on a person's life, allowing for effective support strategies.
- Skills in establishing rapport, respectfully communicating expectations and being assertive when required.
- Experience relating to and building rapport with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Knowledge of child protection system, understanding the importance of safeguarding vulnerable populations.
- Excellent observation, written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective documentation and reporting.
