The Role

The Deputy Chief Executive Officer plays a pivotal role in advancing Meritos' strategic direction. You will be instrumental in promoting cultural understanding and equity across government services, ensuring the voices of multicultural communities are heard and acted upon. This role involves leading the development and implementation of strategic plans, maintaining robust stakeholder relationships, and securing funding for critical programs. You will oversee a significant portfolio, including the Multicultural NSW Grants Program, ensuring strong governance and transparency. As a senior leader, you will provide executive direction and inspire a commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion across the organisation.

About You

  • Extensive experience in senior executive roles, ideally within the public sector or community organisations focused on cultural diversity and inclusion.
  • Strong understanding of cross-cultural issues and ability to engage effectively with diverse communities.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives that drive organisational goals.
  • Expertise in stakeholder engagement, with a track record of building and sustaining positive relationships with community organisations, government agencies, and other key stakeholders.
  • High-level communication and negotiation skills, capable of influencing senior leaders and representing the agency at public forums and media engagements.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving excellence in service delivery.
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of work.
