
Support Worker for Recovery

This role will play a vital part in advocating for consumers and promoting social inclusion and recovery.
About the Role:
The Consumer Advocate will be a key figure in supporting individuals who have experienced mental illness. They will work closely with local partner organisations to deliver training programs and promote sustainable support systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocate for consumers and promote social inclusion and recovery
- Engage with local partner organisations to develop and deliver effective training programs
- Collaborate with mental health professionals in non-clinical roles
Requirements:
- Current unrestricted drivers' licence
- Ability to drive/travel as required, involving long distances and overnight stays
Qualifications:
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (consumer) or willingness to obtain same within 12 months of appointment
- General understanding of mental illnesses and experiences faced by those who experience mental illness
- Effective problem solving skills
Working Conditions:
Must be willing to work alongside mental health professionals and engage with local partner organisations to achieve desired outcomes.
