Job Title: Consumer Advocate

This role will play a vital part in advocating for consumers and promoting social inclusion and recovery.

About the Role:

The Consumer Advocate will be a key figure in supporting individuals who have experienced mental illness. They will work closely with local partner organisations to deliver training programs and promote sustainable support systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for consumers and promote social inclusion and recovery
  • Engage with local partner organisations to develop and deliver effective training programs
  • Collaborate with mental health professionals in non-clinical roles

Requirements:

  • Current unrestricted drivers' licence
  • Ability to drive/travel as required, involving long distances and overnight stays

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (consumer) or willingness to obtain same within 12 months of appointment
  • General understanding of mental illnesses and experiences faced by those who experience mental illness
  • Effective problem solving skills

Working Conditions:

Must be willing to work alongside mental health professionals and engage with local partner organisations to achieve desired outcomes.
