About The Role

The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for supporting frontline maintenance execution across fixed plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with site safety systems, statutory requirements, and company standards;
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement changes to optimise plant availability;
  • Ensure compliance with site safety policies, procedures, and statutory requirements;
  • Provide hands-on support during breakdowns to assist in rapid equipment recovery and reduce Mean Time To Repair (MTTR);
  • Execute or guide complex repairs and maintenance tasks to ensure safe and reliable operation;
  • Participate in fault investigations and assist in implementing corrective actions;
  • Mentor and support less experienced trades personnel in maintenance standards and techniques;
  • Assist in validating job scopes, tooling requirements, and work packs prior to execution;
  • Collaborate with engineers and planners to provide practical feedback on task improvements;
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety requirements, isolation procedures, and permit systems.

This role acts as a technical mentor to trades personnel and ensures a high standard of workmanship is maintained across all tasks.

About You

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications and skills:

  • Trade certificate in Mechanical Fitting, Boilermaking (as relevant);
  • Certificate IV in Mechanical or Electrical (Post Trade) or equivalent (desirable);
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities on fixed plant equipment;
  • Practical experience with mechanical and/or electrical systems in a mining environment;
  • Ability to lead or mentor other trades during breakdown or shutdown activities;
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals;
  • Familiar with maintenance systems such as SAP;
  • Attention to detail and strong documentation practices;
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in high-pressure operational environments;
  • Safety-focused with a strong understanding of risk management in maintenance activities;
  • Results-driven mindset with the ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment;
  • High attention to detail and analytical problem-solving capabilities;
  • Team leadership and mentoring capability.
