Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on planning and development matters through Council's Duty Planner and pre-lodgement services.
  • Assess development proposals and related applications, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Support customers through counter, phone, and email interactions, providing excellent service and guidance.
  • Prepare reports, memorandums, and correspondence on development matters, demonstrating strong communication skills.
  • Conduct site inspections and coordinate feedback from internal and external stakeholders, fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Meet Council deadlines and statutory timeframes, prioritizing tasks and managing workload effectively.
Requirements
  • Enrolment in a tertiary course leading to a qualification in town planning or a related discipline, demonstrating academic commitment.
  • Strong interest in development assessment and statutory planning, showcasing expertise.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating effective collaboration and customer engagement.
  • Basic understanding of relevant planning legislation and regulations, ensuring compliance and application.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and a proactive work ethic, driving personal and professional growth.
  • Class C Driver's Licence, enabling flexibility in work assignments.
