Senior Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our team at the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our enterprise-wide computing environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable and secure computing environments using Windows Server and Unix platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy and consume solutions provided by the team, both on-premises and in the cloud.
- Monitor and report on system performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance reliability, quality, and security.
- Maintain detailed technical knowledge of ABC Windows Server and Unix platform systems and services, and assist in creating and maintaining support documentation.
About You:
- Significant experience in the support and administration of Windows Server and/or Unix Server environments.
- Experience in the proficient management and support of Active Directory, VMware vSphere, Microsoft Server OS build processes, and cloud platforms.
- Sound understanding of common scripting languages for system administration, such as Python, Java, Bash/Shell script, PowerShell, or PHP.
- Familiarity with IP networking concepts, including subnet masks and routing table entries.
- Proficient problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and solve moderately complex technical problems.
