Food Service Assistant Role
This role is a vital part of providing support in the preparation and serving of food, as well as cleaning of the kitchen area. The Food Service Assistant plays a significant role in ensuring a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with meal preparation and serving under the direction of supervisors and/or cooks.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including filling in checklists for daily tasks.
- Ensure adherence to safe food handling procedures at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with other employees in the team.
Requirements:
- Certificate I in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) or equivalent qualification.
- Prior experience not essential, however experience in a commercial kitchen as a general kitchen hand or assistant is preferred.
- Previous experience in a customer service environment is beneficial.
- Able to maintain a tidy and organized workspace, with a natural tendency to notice small details.
- Working knowledge of safe work practices and risk management principles.
