Established in 1998, Katherine West Health Board provides clinical, preventative and public health services to clients in the Katherine West Region of the Northern Territory.
About UsWe are an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation that serves a vast area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of remote communities in Australia.
OverviewWe have been funded for a proactive new program supporting Road Safety. As a Health Promotion Officer for the Safe Tracks program, you will be delivering education and activities regarding pedestrian and road safety, driver license education, and promoting safer driving practices to prevent road trauma across Australia.
Responsibilities- Support primary health care programs with health promotion material development and delivery consistent with our health promotion strategy.
- Work alongside staff, especially Aboriginal Health Practitioners and Community Engagement Workers, in the delivery of health promotion materials through community events, health promotion activities and quality improvement exercises.
- Deliver positive health promotion messages through social media platforms, iPads, health resources and activities to enhance client health literacy and wellbeing.
- Implement health promotion activities as outlined in the health promotion plan with program coordinators and the Primary Health Care team.
- Maintain effective relationships to disseminate health promotion information effectively.
