Fire Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Defence division, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive oversight and management of all fire and life safety systems across multiple defence sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Estate Appraisal & Engineering Manager to ensure seamless integration of fire safety initiatives within broader management strategies.
  • Coordinate and manage fire safety surveys, ensuring thorough assessment and compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to manage potential hazards.
  • Deliver training programs on fire safety practices and emergency response procedures.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance fire safety and life protection measures.
  • Ensure legislative compliance is maintained in all inspection and testing activities.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and national fire safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Oversee the maintenance, inspection, and testing of fire & life safety systems across multiple defence bases.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed records of all fire safety activities and incidents.
  • Respond to fire emergencies and provide on-site support and expertise as required.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Fire Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications as a Fire Safety Engineer or similar professional accreditation.
  • Extensive experience in the fire safety industry, ideally within a Defence or similar high-security environment.
  • Experience in developing policies and procedures in line with fire safety standards and regulation requirements.
  • Experience in training and educating staff on fire safety and emergency response plans.
  • Proven track record of conducting fire safety surveys and risk assessments.
