Job Title: Family Support Specialist

About the Role

This role is a crucial part of our organization's mission to provide client-focused and outcome-based services. As a Family Support Specialist, you will be working collaboratively with clients experiencing complex issues within our targeted early intervention service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for the needs of vulnerable families, contributing to culturally sensitive case plans.
  • Implement trauma-informed care under the Sanctuary model, integrating it into daily work.
  • Develop respectful relationships with stakeholders, government departments, and the community for seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate with families and other service providers to develop and implement case plans.
  • Ensure that the voices of clients and families are heard in case planning and goal setting.
  • Work respectfully to ensure that case plan goals are achievable and realistic.
What We Are Looking For
  • Relevant qualifications in the Human Services field (Diploma of Community Services or equivalent; degree qualifications preferred).
  • Practical experience in working with vulnerable families and an ability to identify children and young people at risk.
  • Demonstrated expertise in family-centered case management.
  • Knowledge of the Human Services sector, trauma, crisis impacts on families, child protection issues, and relevant legislation.
