Job Opportunity: Respiratory Protection Program Fit Tester

The Respiratory Protection Program (RPP) requires skilled professionals to conduct effective Quantitative Fit Testing (QNFT).

QNFT is an objective measurement of the leakage of particles from inside a mask using a numerical indicator called the fit factor.

A machine is used to measure the volume of particles inside the mask compared with the surrounding ambient air, identifying the individual's face seal capacity and ensuring tight-fitting respirators are functioning correctly.

Fit testing involves replicating real-life movements while wearing a respirator, adhering to three international testing protocols each requiring 4-7 exercises or movements.

Protocols vary in requirements, with some necessitating all components to pass while others demand a minimum composite score for a successful outcome.
