Job Role Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Plant Mechanic to support the maintenance and reliability of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance, field servicing, fault finding, and repairs to ensure projects run smoothly and safely.
  • Diagnose and repair faults efficiently while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Service and maintain equipment of plant and truck fleets.
  • Work to tight schedules while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Implement Lean practices to optimize cost efficiency with all repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Assist in planning and maintaining service schedules for optimal vehicle availability.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to source parts that meet quality and pricing requirements.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Current driver's license.
  • Forklift operating certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a qualified Plant Diesel Mechanic.
  • Strong knowledge of drivetrain, brakes, and suspension systems.
  • Basic understanding of auto electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to achieving job objectives.
  • Commitment to Work Health and Safety protocols.
  • Effective communication and people management skills.
