Qualified Assistant Freight Train Drivers Opportunity

Southern Shorthaul Railroad is a leading rail operator in New South Wales and Victoria, known for its commitment to customer service, safety, quality, and reliability. Due to ongoing growth, we are currently seeking Qualified Assistant Freight Train Drivers for work out of Unanderra NSW.

Job Description

We are looking for individuals who can assist with freight haulage tasks in accordance with our policies and procedures. This includes preparing and provisioning locomotives and wagons for train operations, performing minor fault repairs and failure rectifications in-field, undertaking maintenance tasks, and ensuring all operational systems are safe and effective. Our team members must conduct themselves in a professional manner with a strong customer and safety focus.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Certificate IV Rail Operations - provide evidence of the units of competence successfully attained
  • Current or previous NSW Safeworking Qualifications
  • Evidence of your route qualifications/experience
  • Category 1 Rail Safety Workers Medical or willingness to obtain one
  • Current National Police Check or willingness to obtain one
  • A high level of literacy, numeracy, and comprehension skills
