We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Advisor to join our team and contribute to the development of our environmental management systems.
Job Description:The Senior Environmental Advisor will be responsible for overseeing compliance with regulatory requirements, developing environmental approval applications, and providing technical support to our operations team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring monitoring and reporting activities are completed on time and in line with requirements;
- Coordinating technical studies required to support environmental approval applications;
- Preparing environmental approval applications to ensure operational continuity of our sites;
- Interpreting legislation, government guidelines, and approvals to guide site operational teams;
- Championing environmental approvals processes and supporting the implementation of our Environmental Management System (EMS);
- Analyzing, interpreting, and reporting on environmental monitoring data and trends;
- Liaising with key external stakeholders, including government regulators, neighboring landholders, and internal stakeholders;
- Leading significant environmental incident investigations and follow-up actions;
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
Required Skills and Qualifications:- A minimum of five years of relevant experience in the mining/resources industry;
- A Bachelor's Degree majoring in an environment-related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution;
- Excellent understanding of environment, mining, and heritage legislation;
- Strong knowledge of environmental impacts and controls associated with mining operations;
- Solid understanding of Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001) and auditing processes;
- Experience with GIS, database management programs, and analytical skills;
- Flexibility, problem-solving, and collaboration skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
