Electrical Power Systems Expert

This is a challenging and rewarding role for an experienced Electrical Engineer who can provide technical leadership and guidance on electrical power systems for large mining and metals operations.

About the Role
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on electrical power systems for large mining and metals operations.
  • Produce deliverables according to best practices, departmental procedures, codes, and standards.
  • Lead the formulation of engineering concepts and design throughout all project phases.
  • Optimize system design to meet production targets while minimizing project CAPEX and OPEX requirements.
  • Conduct or lead special or unique studies requiring unconventional or novel approaches or research techniques.
  • Serve as a consultant to projects providing advice on assignments having unique features.
  • Train and assist the development of other engineers within the electrical discipline.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a professional license in an appropriate discipline from a recognized licensing board.
  • Extensive experience in all or most of the following areas: High Voltage system specification and design, Low Voltage system specification and design, Industrial power systems study and analysis, Start-up, field engineering, or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, or process plants.
  • Good working knowledge of industry and regulatory standards such as MSHA, OSHA, ISO, DIN, AS/NZS, AS, IEC, ANSI etc.
  • Capability to develop procedures and design criteria/guides and demonstrated knowledge of computer aided engineering (CAE) tools to perform calculations.
