About the Role

As a key member of the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs, we are seeking a highly skilled Collaboration Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talented group of professionals who are passionate about collaboration and delivering exceptional results.

About the Team

The Collaboration Program is a team of experienced professionals who work together to enable complex problem solving and drive business outcomes across the Department. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about collaboration, has excellent communication skills, and is able to work effectively in a team environment.

About the Work

The successful candidate will work closely with the Director and other team members to deliver high-quality collaborative workshops and services. This will involve co-designing and facilitating workshops, building relationships with stakeholders, and developing and implementing initiatives to improve collaboration across the Department.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage relationships with stakeholders, particularly senior executives across the Department and Australian Border Force.
  2. Build collaboration capability by coaching and mentoring team members to develop their skills and knowledge.
  3. Manage and plan strategic priorities, workflow, and performance of team members.
  4. Work closely with colleagues to provide a high-quality, professional service that enhances the program's reputation internally and across government.
  5. Develop and implement initiatives to improve collaboration and service delivery.
  6. Lead the scope, design, and facilitation of collaborative workshops to address complex organizational problems.
  7. Co-design effective workshops through early and genuine engagement, professional advice, and persuasive communication.
  8. Utilize industry best practice methodologies and approaches in professional practice, challenging thinking, and encouraging new approaches to achieving outcomes.
  9. Coach others in best practice to build capability and embed collaboration excellence into business processes.
  10. Identify opportunities for improvement, considering future needs and the changing strategic operating environment.
