Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for all patients undergoing endoscopic procedures.
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of endoscopy procedures, including the setup and maintenance of equipment and instrumentation.
- Manage high-cost consumables, including prostheses, to ensure efficient and effective use.
- Implement and maintain infection prevention and control guidelines, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Participate in the orientation of new staff and contribute to the development of resources and quality improvement projects.
- Mentor and coach junior staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Develop and implement new systems and quality improvement projects to improve patient care and unit efficiency.
- Collaborate with the line manager, proceduralists, and staff to ensure delivery of high-quality care and efficient services.
- Current registration as a Nurse with AHPRA.
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Endoscopy.
- Recent experience working in Endoscopy, undertaking complex procedures including ERCP, EBUS, and EUS.
- Knowledge of legislative requirements and Australian College of Operating Room Nurses (ACORN) standards and GENCA guidelines.
- Member of GENCA.
- Post-graduate qualification or commitment to complete one.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control principles.
- Sound clinical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- High degree of computer literacy, including Endobase.
