The Community Services Commission, established by the Anglican Diocese of Brisbane, provides strategic direction and policy development, and monitors community welfare, social justice, health, and aged and community care activities of the Diocese. The direction and control of Anglicare SQ, including its business and affairs, is vested in the Commission/Board as a whole, and is responsible to the Diocesan Council.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a large, complex, and highly reputable organisation through an era of change, reform, growth, and innovation. As Chair of the Board (Commission), you will be responsible for steering the Commission's strategic direction and decision-making while upholding the highest governance standards of the organisation. In this role, you will be critical in ensuring the effectiveness of the Board and its individual members, both in and out of the Boardroom.

As the Chair of the Board, you will lead board meetings, ensure accountability of deliverables, and advocate for ASQ's mission and strategic goals. You will work closely with our CEO and Executive team with the support of the Company Secretary.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 - $180,000 per annum, plus benefits such as remuneration, salary packaging, and professional development allowance. You will also have access to a wide range of influential stakeholders in Queensland and enjoy expenses and travel paid.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to bring extensive executive experience in areas such as business, finance, IT, legal, governance, HR, or customer experience in large and complex organisations. Health, community services, or not-for-profit experience would be highly advantageous. You should also possess extensive Board or Corporate Governance experience and demonstrated capacity to lead teams with an unwavering commitment to maintaining the organisation's governance framework and ensuring accountability across all levels of leadership.

You will need strong communication skills, including the ability to advocate to stakeholders and publicly as required. Identifying as a worshipping Anglican will be highly regarded. Relevant degree, preferably in a discipline related to the work of the Commission, and completion of the AICD Company Directors course (or equivalent) are also essential. Furthermore, you must be able to meet the requirements of a Key Personnel Check for the purposes of the Aged Care Act 1997, have no relevant criminal history or history of bankruptcy, and be willing to travel.
