Explosive Ordnance Consultant Role

This Explosive Ordnance Engineering Consultant role provides consultancy advice and technical solutions to clients in a project setting. The role offers variety as client needs evolve.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from Defence Organisations to develop understanding of defence organisational structure and meet special program office requirements.
  • Support or generate opportunities for department collaboration through workshops within Australia.
  • Review and develop engineering documentation.
  • Provide training via short presentations on subject areas of value.
  • Answer direct technical questions regarding energetic materials, all up systems, common failure modes, and de-risking/testing options.
  • Distribute technical material to engineers within Guided Weapon EO systems.
  • Provide mentoring and task planning for junior/graduate engineers.
  • Prepare material for broad audiences through conference papers or equivalent publications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • An engineering degree in a suitable field with 2+ years relevant experience, or a technical/trade background with 8+ years Defence experience.
  • Elevated knowledge of guided weapon systems and/or Explosive Ordnance.
  • Experience in engineering artefact development and review activities.
  • High knowledge of applicable weapon systems, equipment, or technology.
  • Experience using ASDEFCON principles.
  • Defence acquisition or sustainment projects experience.
  • Knowledge of guided weapons / munitions and defence technical regulatory frameworks.
  • Explosive ordnance, materiel management, technical management experience.
