Commercial Lawyer Role

This is a high-performing mid to senior level lawyer role in Brisbane. The job provides legal services and support to multiple business units across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and support on commercial agreements, including master services agreements, statements of work, SaaS agreements, software licenses, and white label arrangements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial contracts to meet industry standards.
  • Support group transformation projects, outsourcing arrangements, mergers and acquisitions transactions, corporate restructures, and annual disclosure reviews.
  • Provide corporate advisory legal assistance to serviced business units.
  • Collaborate with experienced counsel to support initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Admitted as a legal practitioner in Australia with 6–8 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
  • Private practice or in-house experience involving technology contracting, outsourcing, and general commercial vendor contract reviews and negotiations is advantageous.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to negotiate and draft on material contracts of strategic importance.
  • Ability to draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial contracts to meet third-party contract standards.
  • Familiarity with technology law, operational risk management regulations, privacy, and data protection; knowledge of prudential standards for Australian ADIs, Corporations Act, and ASX Listing Rules is favorable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tight timeframes effectively.
  • Displays personal drive, integrity, resilience, empathy, and respectful collaboration.
