Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations of our retirement village portfolio, partnering closely with Village Managers and Residents' Committees to ensure smooth, transparent, and accurate financial processes.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Managing financial reporting for our retirement village portfolio, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and state legislation.
- Preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements for Village Managers and Residents' Committees, supported by clear and meaningful commentary.
- Ensuring accurate revenue recognition and expense accruals, including staff cost allocations across villages.
- Reconciling all balance sheet accounts and following up on outstanding variances in a timely manner.
- Partnering with Village Managers to support day-to-day financial decision-making and providing clear financial insights.
- Attending quarterly Residents' Committee meetings and Village Annual Management Meetings (AMMs) to support financial transparency and communication.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Membership of a recognized accounting body (CA or CPA qualified).
- Strong accounting knowledge and attention to detail, ideally with experience in budgeting, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
- Superior communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for audiences and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- A proficient ongoing process of identifying, analyzing, and making incremental improvements to processes to drive efficiency and quality.
