Music Industry Academic Leader

Join RMIT University, a world-renowned institution, as an esteemed Music Industry Academic Leader. This exciting opportunity is a Full-time, Fixed Term position until December 2025, offering a highly competitive Academic Level B salary of $110,868 - $131,659, inclusive of 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements. Based at our Melbourne CBD campus, you will be part of a vibrant community of practitioners, theorists, and thinkers in the School of Media and Communication.
About the Role
As a Music Industry Academic Leader, you will contribute to the teaching and research efforts of the School, focusing on the areas of Popular Culture and/or Music Industry. Your responsibilities will include delivering courses at undergraduate, honours, and postgraduate levels, both online and in-person, and producing high-quality curriculum or program materials. You will also undertake course coordination roles, work effectively with students, and develop new research initiatives.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver courses at various levels, including online delivery.
- Experience in course coordination and team collaboration.
- Capacity to work sensitively with students, negotiating effective learning strategies.
- Emerging track record of quality research outputs, contributing to existing Discipline and School research areas.
Desirable Attributes
- Ability to supervise higher degree by research candidates.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new research initiatives.
- Success in competitive research funding.
- Demonstrated links within industries related to Popular Culture and/or Music.
Qualifications
Mandatory: PhD in a relevant field. Please note that appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.
