About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Professor and Chair to join our newly established Department of Nursing at Swinburne University of Technology. As a key academic leader, you will provide strategic direction for the Department, focusing on the growth and development of its flagship programs. You will collaborate closely with the existing nursing leadership team, the Executive Dean, School Executive Committee, and professional staff to enhance teaching, research, and professional activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Department, including the formulation and implementation of the strategic, academic and business plans of the Department.
  • Innovate and deliver high-quality teaching and learning experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing students.
  • Develop and maintain a culture of excellence in research and scholarship, with a focus on advancing knowledge in nursing.
  • Collaborate with industry partners and stakeholders to develop research initiatives and projects.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to academic staff, promoting innovation and excellence in teaching and learning.

Requirements:

  • Doctoral qualification in Nursing or a closely related discipline.
  • AHPRA registration as a Nurse.
  • Teaching qualification.
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body.
