Quality Assurance Specialist - Pet Food Quality Expert

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Davidson. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and safety of our pet food products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and Manage Quality Systems: Implement and oversee quality systems to meet product safety and quality requirements.
  • Product Testing & Inspections: Conduct on-site testing, in-line inspections, and coordinate external testing as needed.
  • Training & Communication: Train team members on quality processes and deliver updates to reflect changes in product, processes, or certifications.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with operations teams to refine processes, mitigate risks, and enhance quality outcomes.
  • Audits: Lead internal audits and assist with external customer and certification audits.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field.
  • Quality assurance experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of pet food, BRC, and consumer goods regulations.
  • Experience with standards related to pet food, treats, grains, seeds, and biological materials would be beneficial.
Skills and Attributes:
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver critical tasks effectively.
  • Experience with external laboratories and interpreting scientific results.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
Salary:

$80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
