About the Role

This dynamic insurance company is committed to delivering not just coverage but genuine impact and support to its customers. The Senior Commercial Business Partner will take charge of management accounting for a diverse range of cost centres, leading budgeting and forecasting, and delivering monthly performance insights that directly influence board-level and executive decisions.

  • Lead budgeting and forecasting for more than 20 cost centres, guiding the organisation's financial strategy.
  • Deliver monthly performance insights that directly influence board-level and executive decisions.
  • Use 'what-if' financial modelling to explore scenarios and steer strategic choices.
  • Evaluate business cases, assess investment opportunities, and oversee capital project accounting.
  • Empower budget managers and finance teams through training and support to enhance financial expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

To succeed in this role, you'll need to bring a solid background in management accounting and financial analysis, ideally within the insurance or financial services sectors. You should have:

  • A tertiary qualification in accounting (essential); CPA/CA qualification is highly regarded.
  • At least five years of hands-on experience in financial or management accounting roles.
  • A deep understanding of accounting standards, best practices, and financial analysis.
  • Sharp analytical skills, with the ability to make quick, strategic decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project); familiarity with Technology One is an advantage.
  • Exceptional communication skills, coupled with a talent for negotiation and customer service.
  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for mentoring and developing others.
