Job Title: Data Platform Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Platform Leader to lead the migration from a legacy warehouse to a new data platform (AWS) for our client in the construction industry, based in Melbourne.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who can demonstrate their expertise in managing complex IT projects and leading cross-functional teams. As a Data Platform Leader, you will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the project are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Project Management: Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets to ensure successful delivery of the project.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the project outcomes.
  • Data Modelling: Design and implement data models to meet business requirements.
  • Cloud Technology: Utilize cloud technology stacks such as AWS, Azure, and Databricks to deliver modern data solutions.
  • Agile Environment: Work in an Agile environment to deliver iterative and incremental results.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Demonstrated experience in Project Management/leadership of modern data platform projects in mid-to-large scale enterprise environments.
  • Understanding of planning and delivery management of solutions including solution types: data lake, data warehouse solutions; modern cloud technology stacks: AWS, Azure, Databricks, snowflake; multiple data domains and business groups/stakeholders.
  • Data Modelling methods - 3NF, Data Vault, Dimensional (in lake house architecture); end to end project lifecycle.
  • Experience in delivering complex IT solutions to enterprise environments.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
