We are seeking a seasoned Cultural Heritage Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will play a pivotal role in upholding our STARR Core Values of Safety, Teamwork, Accountability, Respect and Results.
Your primary responsibility will be to ensure effective implementation of Aboriginal cultural heritage and Native Title Agreement commitments across our Australian operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with experience in community development, cultural heritage, or stakeholder engagement, preferably within the resources sector.
You will work collaboratively with stakeholders and Traditional Owners to implement Native Title commitments and foster long-term, trust-based relationships. Your expertise in complex problem-solving will be essential in delivering solutions across the business. Additionally, you must be able to multitask, organise, and prioritise multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:- Support cultural heritage surveys and manage heritage data at our Kalgoorlie Production Centre.
- Engage with Traditional Owner groups to facilitate heritage assessments and survey requests, ensuring compliance with standards, agreements, and legislation.
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders and Traditional Owners to implement Native Title commitments.
- Provide strategic advice on cultural heritage management, Traditional Owner engagement, and community development.
- Foster long-term, trust-based relationships with Traditional Owners.
- Serve as the senior liaison for day-to-day interactions between us and Traditional Owners.
- Ensure Free, Prior and Informed Consent for our activities.
- Assist in developing management plans and proposals in consultation with Traditional Owner groups.
- Support regulatory and approval submissions through effective stakeholder engagement planning.
- Build and maintain community relationships to achieve social performance objectives.
- Provide direction and support to our Heritage Coordinator – Kalgoorlie.
