Nurturing Children and Families Specialist

About the Role

This role plays a pivotal part in creating programs that empower vulnerable children, support families, and provide essential services.

  • Fostering supportive relationships with families through community outreach and engagement
  • Collaborating with early childhood education specialists to develop parenting strategies
  • Providing counseling services to young people at risk of homelessness, as well as independent living supports for adults with disabilities
  • Offering early intervention programs for children with special needs

This is an ongoing part-time opportunity available in Lightning Ridge or Brewarrina NSW within our Mobile Children's Services program.

Key Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this position, you must possess exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to build positive working relationships. Additionally, it is crucial to have a deep appreciation for Aboriginal culture and values.

  • Ability to lead supported playgroups
  • Awareness of current issues faced by Aboriginal children, young people, and their families
  • Proficiency in operating 4-wheel drive vehicles for daily travel to various communities
