Personal Support Worker

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Support Worker to join our team. As a Residential Care Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide personalized support, ensuring safety, well-being, and independence for our clients. This role requires flexibility, as shifts may include up to five sleepovers per week and working with multiple clients with diverse needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality person-centered support in a Supported Independent Living setting.
  • Assist clients with personal care, daily living activities, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Implement individualized care plans tailored to client needs and preferences.
  • Provide specialist support to clients with Acquired Brain Injuries, complex behaviors, and epilepsy, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients, families, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on client progress and any incidents.
  • Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications & Skills

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability, Aged Care, or equivalent).
  • Experience supporting clients with complex behaviors and high-support needs.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in manual handling and epilepsy management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with clients and families.
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including up to five sleepover shifts per week.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC) and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transport.
  • Social Work, Psychology, or Nursing students are encouraged to apply.
