Key Outcomes and Accountabilities

The primary objective of this role is to spearhead and manage complex investigations, culminating in criminal and administrative outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting prolonged and intricate investigations, encompassing the review of intelligence and complaint information, development of investigation plans, taking witness statements, conducting records of interview, and preparation of briefs of evidence.
  • Collaborating with legal officers, providing expert testimony in court, and assisting the Director Compliance and Enforcement to lead and manage the team.
  • Offering guidance and advice concerning investigations, staff direction, guidance, training, and assistance, interpreting legislation and codes, and providing high-level written and verbal counsel.
  • Preparing papers and furnishing updates for committees and statutory bodies.
  • Negotiating and communicating with stakeholders, implementing policies and projects, and providing exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.

Essential skills and qualifications include:

  • Proven ability in conducting and managing complex investigations.
  • High-level experience in developing and implementing organisational initiatives.
  • Exemplary leadership and management skills, including leading junior investigators.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain operational networks and partnerships.
  • Exceptional written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • Substantial investigative experience in law enforcement and/or regulatory environments.
  • Possession of an investigation-based qualification.
