About the Opportunity

Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), a leading global provider of real estate and investment management services, is seeking an experienced Facilities Operations Manager to oversee the performance of our commercial property portfolio in Hobart, Tasmania.

This hands-on role requires a leader who can drive engineering services operations, focusing on energy sustainability, ongoing building commissioning, and operational improvements. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and leading the site operational team, including technical third-party service providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead the site operational team, ensuring seamless execution of day-to-day operations and maintenance activities.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives to achieve NABERS Energy and Water targets, minimizing the environmental footprint of our properties.
  • Establish and maintain strong client relationships, providing regular updates and attending meetings to ensure exceptional customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory authorities and safety standards, guaranteeing a safe working environment for staff and tenants.
  • Coordinate effective maintenance, risk management, and procurement activities, maximizing efficiency and minimizing costs.
  • Prepare and monitor annual property operations and capital works budgets, ensuring accurate financial planning and reporting.
  • Oversee small to mid-size site projects, leveraging your expertise to deliver high-quality results.
  • Participate in sustainability forums and implement performance improvement programs, driving continuous innovation and excellence.
  • Manage tenant relationships and address their operational concerns, providing timely solutions and support.
  • Conduct periodic inspections of buildings and plant to determine repair priorities, ensuring optimal asset utilization.
  • Prepare tender and contract documentation for works and services, maintaining a robust and compliant procurement process.
  • Embrace and promote the property and corporate Incident and Injury Free program, fostering a culture of safety and well-being.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in facilities management within commercial properties, with a strong understanding of building systems, sustainability practices, and operational improvements.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage budgets, prepare reports, and analyze operational data.
  • Familiarity with NABERS Energy and Water ratings, ensuring a deep understanding of energy efficiency and water conservation strategies.
  • Experience in project management and contractor supervision, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and safety standards, guaranteeing compliance and adherence to industry best practices.
  • Able to handle after-hours emergency responses, demonstrating adaptability and flexibility in high-pressure situations.
