Canteen Officer Job Description

We are seeking a Canteen Officer to join our team in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the canteen facilities
  • Prepare and serve food items in accordance with the menu plan
  • Follow relevant food handling, safety, and money handling policies
  • Provide excellent customer service to students and staff

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated understanding of current workplace health and safety requirements
  • Knowledge of food preparation, storage, and disposal procedures
  • Knowledge of cleaning and hand hygiene practices
  • Practical experience in operating a café or canteen environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience in handling cash transactions

Required Certifications and Checks:

  • Food Supervisor Certificate or undertaking to complete the course within 2 years of employment
  • Current paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number
