The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Associate to become part of our esteemed, award-winning Band 1 Corporate M&A team in Sydney.

In this position, you will engage with some of the most significant and high-profile transactions in Australia, collaborating closely with a variety of leading Partners within our Corporate group.

Responsibilities

Engage in a variety of corporate transactions, including public and private M&A deals, schemes of arrangement, and cross-border transactions. Serve as the lead attorney on M&A transactions, encompassing the drafting and negotiation of critical transaction documents, overseeing due diligence, and advising clients on legal risks. Manage transaction projects to ensure compliance with key deadlines and anticipated deliverables, working in tandem with other legal teams to provide a cohesive service to our clients and collaborating with external advisors. Cultivate and manage client relationships, contributing to business development efforts for both existing and prospective clients. Mentor junior associates within the team, actively participating in their professional growth.

Qualifications

A law degree and an unrestricted practicing certificate from Australia or New Zealand. Substantial experience as a Senior Associate in a leading corporate M&A practice. Proficiency in public and/or private M&A, along with corporate advisory experience. Strong academic credentials and a commitment to continuous learning. A proactive mindset and the ability to work under tight deadlines, both collaboratively and independently. A genuine interest in clients and a desire to foster relationships that enhance the practice's growth and reputation.
