Helicopter Flight Instructor Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced helicopter flight instructor to join our team. As a flight instructor, you will be responsible for conducting ab-initio flight instruction on the EC-135 T2+ aircraft.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting ground instruction, briefings and lectures to trainees.
  • Operating Training Aircraft and Training Equipment (live and synthetic devices).
  • Updating trainee records and providing regular feedback.
  • Briefing the Pilot Training Officer on trainee progress.
  • Mentoring trainees and reviewing their progress in ground training events and assessments.

To be considered for this role, you will need to have the following qualifications and skills:

  • A current CASA Class 1 Medical Certificate and ability to maintain the requirements of this medical certificate.
  • A CASA Commercial Pilot Licence (Helicopter) - CPL(H) (minimum).
  • A CASA Command Instrument Rating (Helicopter), or military equivalent.
  • CASA Night Visual Flight Rules Rating, or military equivalent.
  • A Category C rotary wing Qualified Flying Instructor or greater.
  • TAE40122 or current TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or ability to obtain.
  • Military flight instruction experience.
  • A history of helicopter NVD formation experience.
  • 250 hours of NVD flight operations.
  • Demonstrate clear and effective English written and verbal communication skills in a stressful flying environment.
  • Have current Competency Standard HLTAID003 - Provide first aid.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a team and successfully interact with co-workers.
