Job Opportunity

Laurel House seeks an experienced counsellor to provide trauma-informed support to victims of sexual assault and children with harmful sexual behaviours.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide confidential face-to-face and telephone counselling for adults, children, young people, and their support networks affected by sexual violence.
  • Monitor client progress and tailor responses considering their diverse backgrounds, attributes, and preferences.
  • Conduct culturally sensitive intake assessments and provide information about our services, options, referrals, and waiting lists.
  • Collaborate with other organisations to ensure clients access necessary support and reduce the impact of sexual harm.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or equivalent.
  • Minimum three years of practice experience.
  • Participation in the after-hours roster approximately six times per year.
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa.
